Todays inspiration is nothing short of amazing. Her work is moody, mysterious and thought provoking. She is active in the photography community and sweet as pie. Please take a moment to read a bit about Ana of Ana Rosenberg Photography and swoon over her beautiful work.
How long have you been doing photography all together and how long as a business?
I’ve always loved taking pictures with my sisters with my point and shoot when I was younger. When I met my husbands grandmother, she would show me lots of old pictures and how much the memories meant to her. This touched me deeply. So when I had my daughter 8 years ago I decided to buy my first DSLR Camera! I felt I wanted to capture all the moments of my daughter’s childhood! In 2013 I felt I was ready to venture deeper into my passion and use what I love to do in a small business. Now I get to do what I love for work and my Hobby!!!
What made you want to get into lifestyle photography?
My kids made me switch to life style photography! I wanted to capture the honest simple moments of their childhood. I love to sneak up on the kids and catch them in the moment doing something sweet or in the act.
What is the one thing about lifestyle photography that you love the most?
The candid moments where every pose is real, no staging, no posing, just pure beauty! Capturing the true emotions and reactions. I want my kids and their kids to be able to look back at how fun their childhood was and be able to share all the memories.
Can you give one tip of how you shoot with moodier light or low light?
Finding the light has been a lot of fun for me. If you see the light use it, no matter how small it is to work with. Do not be afraid to use your ISO, embrace the grain.
Who is your favorite muse? and why?
My kids are my favorite muse, the emotions, facial expressions keep me going. They have such unique personalities. They are my inspiration!
The evening is the time of the day I get my moodier light indoor.
Can you tell us a little about how you get kids to loosen up and not be shy so you can do your thing?
Let them do their own thing, I don’t make them pose or smile. I love talking to them and making silly faces. A little incentive helps to!
How do you prepare yourself and your clients going into a lifestyle shoot?
We have a conversation on what to expect and be ready for the unexpected.
How do you get families to be themselves and not nervous, can you share some tips?
I will tell them to relax and not to worry about it, enjoy what they are doing and have fun.
What would you tell someone wanting to venture into lifestyle photography, but doesn't know how to make the transition?
Just do it! Follow your heart and make your dreams happen! If you want to capture moments and create great memories of natural everyday experiences, this is the way to go!
